The Arts District Broadband Project

The Arts District Broadband (ADB) project seeks to partner with DWP to connect existing dark fiber with wireless nodes to provide wireless broadband to Arts District residents and businesses.  The project will also seek support from the mayor’s office, which recently identified the Arts District as a target community for the development of high-tech enterprises.

The total cost of connecting existing dark fiber to wireless transceivers throughout the entire Arts District is estimated to be around $100,000.   Targeted sources of funding are DWP, CRA (which has already been mandates to create a wireless broadband project in the communities identified as high-tech enterprise development zones) and grants facilitated through the high-tech initiative sponsored by the office of Los Angeles Mayor Villaraigosa.
