PERSIA WHITE DEBUTS HER NEW WORKS IN
“THE ALCHEMY OF INNOCENCE” AT THE FACTORY
Actress/musician/producer/activist and painter Persia White debuts her works in The Alchemy of Innocence at The Factory in Los Angeles, June 26-July 25, 2010. Thirty (30) percent of the proceeds from sales will benefit the Humane Society of the United States and Los Angeles-based Animal Acres.
Known for her role in the long-running television series “Girlfriends”, Persia is also a passionate activist for human and animal welfare causes and is an active board member of the Humane Society of the United States and a passionate supporter of Animal Acres. Additionally, Persia has produced the award-winning documentary Earthlings and, most recently, her first solo album ‘Mecca’.
The work is raw and intimate, graphic, and intense. Persia shows a knack for composition and contrast, using color and space in broad, bold brushstrokes.
The show is presented by The Factory, in LA’s Arts District. Information about HSUS efforts in the Gulf and about Animal Acres will be available at the event. Opening festivities continue at 6pm with a special music performance by Persia, featuring violinist Nishtan Motyka and Thavius Beck, a solo artist who has also collaborated with Nine Inch Nails and Saul Williams.
